Dean Martin is miscast in this Tennessee Williams copycat film. He returns to New Orleans with child-like bride Mimieux to visit his overbearing sisters. The banter back and forth between the sisters is tiring. One of them makes a startling revelation, only it's so out of context as to be hilarious. There is a brutal attack on Martin and friend, surprisingly graphic for its time.
