Lost souls Geraldine Page and Glenn Ford, she's in town for a convention and he's looking for an apartment for his new fiance, meet up in a New York City hotel. Page is loud, slightly wacky, and approaching spinsterhood, desperate to find a husband before it is too late. The newly engaged Ford is having his own doubts, takes the first woman he meets to the hotel across the street before bumping into Page. They contemplate spending the night together, but neither seems to have the self confidence to make the first move. This goes on the entire movie until his fiance unexpectedly shows up and forces a decision. The acting is fine, but the film is oddly unsatisfying and slightly dated.
