Because You're Mine (1952)

MGM
Directed by Alexander Hall
My rating: 2 stars out of 4
IMDb
(DVD, Warner Archive Collection)

Mario Lanza is drafted into the Army! Luckily for him, his drill Sergeant is a big opera fan. Mario spends his time in boot camp singing, flirting with the Sergeant's daughter, singing, attending recording sessions to make records, singing, fighting with his ex-girlfriend, singing, well, you get the picture. The melodrama is laughable, but the singing is frequently quite good.
