An American scientist designs a supercomputer to automate the country's nuclear defense system. Given total control by the president, the computer soon reveals that the Soviets also have a supercomputer and that the two are communicating. The leaders of both countries try to sever the communications, but the computers, now one, respond by launching nuclear missiles at both countries. The scientists then try to covertly remove access to the nuclear missiles, but this also fails leading to more demands by the all-powerful computer using nuclear blackmail. Intriguing idea, and some interesting sets, marred by a ridiculous middle section where the computer monitors the scientist in his home while he pretends to have sex with his pretty coworker Susan Clark.
