Two preteens who met accidentally backstage at a school play contrive to reunite when his boy scout group camps on her remote island the next summer. He runs away from camp and she from home, and they proceed to live out a prepubescent fantasy while being pursued by boy scouts, the police and her parents. Filmed in the usual inimitable Wes Anderson style: quirky and highly stylized. It is more bearable than most of his films, but still leaves a bad aftertaste.
