Innocuous movie-of-the-week story of skier Jill Kinmont's tragic accident and long rehabilitation. She falls in love with hot dogger Beau Bridges, but he mostly ignores her until after the accident. He helps her find the strength to carry on and encourages her in her education as a school teacher. Then, inexplicably, he leaves her, only to break her heart once more in the weepy ending (accompanied by soaring piano and violins). It's actually quite well-made on beautiful California mountain locations, but the melodramatics are simply too much.
