Soldiers headed to the war in Germany spend their last few nights at a New York nightclub where the food and drinks are free, famous entertainers grace the stage and pretty girls pretend to fall in love with them. The entertainment includes musicians such as Benny  Goodman and Count Basie and real actors as waiters and kitchen help. It's fun trying to spot all of them in what amounts to cameos. The "plot", if you could call it that, involves a naive serviceman hoping to get his first kiss or another one hoping to get married. The mood is ruined when we follow the women home at night and they reveal it's all just a put on to make the men happy.
