Joan Fontaine becomes engaged but when she brings him to her apartment he can't help but notice she keeps pictures of her ex husband and boyfriends on display. After this awkward opening, we learn through flashbacks how she was "discovered" on a remote island by a Broadway producer and made into a star. Even though they are married, she still falls for the other men: a wealthy Montana rancher and snooty author. The relationships are never believable and the framework for the story cumbersome.
