The Secret of Dorian Gray (1970)

American International Pictures
Directed by Massimo Dallamano
My rating: 2 stars out of 4
IMDb
(DVD, Raro Video)

Helmut Berger plays a young narcissist in swinging London. While posing for an artist friend, he begins to fear that he will lose his good looks with age and manages to transfer himself to the portrait. How he manages this is not explained. He sells a run down house for a small fortune by seducing an older woman. So now he becomes a playboy narcissist and roams the globe seducing both men and women. Eventually his friends become old and gray while he stays young. However, the London pop culture scene is still stuck in the late 60s. It all builds up to the big climax, which even if you are not familiar with the story can be seen a mile away. Director Dallamano dwells too much on the softcore erotica and not on the story.
