The House That Would Not Die (1970)

ABC Movie of the Week
Directed by John Llewellyn Moxey
My rating: 2 stars out of 4

Barbara Stanwyck inherits and old house that is haunted by past residents. Her niece becomes possessed by a young girl during an ill advised seance. Her neighbor is possessed by the girl's father. Diaries stored in the attic contain buried family secrets. The basement contains a sealed room. It's all rather predictable, riddled with cliches and overacting, particularly by newcomer Kitty Winn as the girl. Winn would later appear in a much better film about possession, The Exorcist.
