Paperhouse (1988)

Vestron Pictures
Directed by Bernard Rose
My rating: 2 stars out of 4
IMDb
(Independent Film Channel)

Bratty kid discovers that her drawings actually exist in her dreams. She meets a boy there who lives in the run down house that she has sketched. In real life, he apparently is the sick patient of her doctor, but she never meets him. When she becomes sick herself, the dream-life becomes more terrifying. Her father, who is MIA in real life, is a blind madman. Eventually she gets better and stops having dreams. However the boy dies. Death is represented by a helicopter, and in one last scene she is almost taken away by it. Ludicrous fantasy is derivative of the Nightmare on Elm Street series.
