The Cosmic Monster (1958)

Eros Films (UK)
Directed by Gilbert Gunn
My rating: 1.5 stars out of 4
IMDb
(Turner Classic Movies)

An English scientist's experiments with magnetism results in giant insect mutations and brings a visitor from another planet. His lab assistant, American Forrest Tucker, tries to figure out how to stop it, while romancing a pretty computer assistant. Tucker is simply awful and his character embarrassingly sexist. Despite being made in the UK, the special effects resemble the low budget American productions of the time, although there is one disturbing scene of a giant ant eating a man's face.
