The Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting (1978)

Coralie Films
Directed by Raoul Ruiz
My rating: 2.5 stars out of 4
IMDb
(DVD, Blaq Out)

An art collector and an unseen narrator discuss a series of paintings which had caused a scandal over 100 years ago. Live models re-enact the paintings in his sprawling mansion and adjacent gardens. This allows them to see the paintings from different perspectives. Cerebral to say the least with little if any plot; not likely to appeal to anyone outside of artists and art critics.
