Scientist John Agar gets the green light to continue his research into chemical warfare agents. He is doused by his latest experiment, which leads to the death of his assistant and turns him into a giant, black charcoal mass. His touch leads to near-instant death, leaving a trail of bodies across southern California. He eventually finds his empathetic girlfriend near the beach, but the police aren't far behind. Bottom-of-the-barrel drive-in fare for undiscriminating fans of schlock.
