Two strangers swept up in the madness and confusion of Mardi Gras in New Orleans fall in love. She is a performer in a circus and he is a wealthy playboy. Engaged to be married, he takes her home to the family at his remote country estate. At first she receives the cold shoulder from his matronly aunt who runs the place, but she eventually wins them over. The marriage is almost ruined when her old circus friends show up, but they reconcile in the contrived happy ending. Ray Bolger is good as the circus emcee in his first role after The Wizard of Oz, but the two leads lack the necessary chemistry to keep it afloat.
