Complex thriller in which a doctor is implicated in the death of his wife to get the insurance money. However, all is not as it appears after he starts a torrid affair with a local stripper who happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to his dead wife. The police get involved and his arrested, tried and convicted. In an unlikely twist ending, he is saved from the gas chamber at the last second. Filmed on location around San Francisco, it incorporates psychedelic culture in fashion, color schemes and a memorable set piece in a strip club. Marisa Mell is stunning as usual, in perhaps her best role outside of Danger:Diabolik.
